Synopsis
Returning to a photograph nearly thirty years later, Varda reconnects with her subjects – who remember little of the moment it captured. In the frame: a dead goat, a naked man and boy, the sea in the background. Beyond the frame: stories of a family, a childhood, a journey, friendships, and the shared experience of living in this world. With a constantly shifting stream of thought, reflections on time, memory, reality, and forgetting take shape – echoing one of the filmmaker’s enduring concerns: the mystery of images. (C.M.)
This film will be screened alongside The Gleaners and I.
