Synopsis
In Ellen Morais’s film, we witness the arrival of wind farms in Brazil’s Northeast – a region that now accounts for nearly 90% of the country’s wind energy – through the perspective of a Quilombola community in the Paraíba backlands. What initially seems novel, even mysterious, gradually reveals itself to have profound and unavoidable consequences. (K.M.)
This film is a part of PGM 3 and will be screened alongside Después del silencio, Perishable Idol and Sunflowers.
