Synopsis
The curved body, the gaze and arm extended toward the ground. The act of “gleaning” runs through time and human history – present in both past and present agricultural practices, in urban gleaning, and across a wide array of artworks. In her first digital film, Varda sets out with a camera in hand to meet different kinds of gleaners, reconstructing a sense of collectivity in which she also sees herself: a gleaner of images. (C.M.)
This film will be screened alongside Ulysse.
