Synopsis

The director’s sixth feature film, released nearly two decades after her early work with the Nouvelle Vague, ventures into the realm of musical drama. The film follows the unlikely friendship between Pauline (Valérie Mairesse), a teenage aspiring singer, and Suzanne (Thérèse Liotard), a young single mother facing hardship after a personal tragedy. Two women from different backgrounds, their lives shaped by the women’s rights movements in France during the 1960s and ’70s, come together in a feminist film about the power of friendship and solidarity in difficult times.
