Synopsis
Blending fiction and documentary, Safi Faye’s debut feature offers an intimate portrayal of daily life in a rural village in Senegal, the director’s homeland. Featuring a cast of real workers, the film follows Ngor and Coumba, a couple hoping to marry, but struggling with poor harvests caused by drought. Like a letter to the world and to rural life, Faye immerses herself in the unique rhythms of this environment – from everyday gestures to the interactions that foster a shared sense of community, set against the backdrop of a changing world.
