Synopsis
In Haiti, Marianne and Pétion wait for a phone call from their son, who has immigrated to the U.S. The waiting creates room for hope, as they imagine a life far removed from their daily reality. But as they wait, reality takes shape in the small gestures that that reflect the love of those who can only rely on themselves. (K.M.)

Samuel Suffren
Samuel Suffren is a Haitian director and producer. He’s working on a short film trilogy. His first film “Agwe” (2022) was selected at Locarno and won the best diaspora film at FESPACO. His second film, “Des Rêves en Bateaux Papiers”, was screened at the 13th Olhar de Cinema festival. He’s developing a feature documentary, “Lòtbò” and his first fiction feature, “Je M’appelle Nina Shakira”.
