Synopsis
Inspired by a dream, João Vieira Torres embarks on a journey to find the people his grandmother Aurora – a midwife and healer in the rural countryside of Bahia – helped bring into the world. Each step along this emotional path reveals new discoveries about himself and, above all, the women in his family, whose lives have been marked by both violence and liberation. Navigating multiple movements – geographical and in dialogue with marginalized female and queer experiences – the film brings to the surface questions rooted in the country’s colonial legacy, while also revealing the strength found in these encounters.
