In the Amazon, a region known for its rubber plantations – and its ongoing struggles for land rights – we spend an ordinary day with Leonora Maia, an artist who lives at her own pace, one that the film is committed to honoring. The routine of creating pieces for export intertwines with the remarkable task of crafting artificial leaves from the rubber of real trees, all captured in an observational documentary that finds quiet grandeur in small gestures.
